Vitus E-Sommet VRX: No shuttling required

The Vitus E-Sommet VRX eMTB has all the trail-shredding performance of a big-hitting enduro bike, but with a powerful pedal-assist motor that kills climbs and extends access in far-flung terrain.

The E-Sommet VRX is built around the tried-and-true Shimano EP8 motor system with a frame-integrated 630Wh removable battery tucked into the downtube. It’s a torquey and intuitive eMTB platform that, paired with the E-Sommet's mixed-wheel setup, makes for a snappy ride that keeps you fresh on the climbs so you can absolutely terrorize the descents.

The E-Sommet is a bike that you sit within, not perched on top. It’s a primo platform for just about any gravity-focused ride, but the E-Sommet’s true home turf is in the maw of a janky backcountry descent. Its mixed-wheel setup takes advantage of the enhanced traction and roll-over ability of a 29-inch front wheel while still harnessing the nimble playfulness of a smaller 27.5-inch rear wheel. It stays planted on technical, unpredictable ground and thrives in the chaos of turbulent trails — a magic carpet floating on frenzy.

Shifting is handled by a Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain and a burly set of Shimano XT 4-piston brakes keep gravity in check. Out front is a 170mm RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork and in the rear end is a RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate RCT shock with 167mm of travel. It’s an uncompromising e-bike for the days when big downs require big ups.

There are many ways to the top of the mountain, but the E-Sommet just might be the best.
